Central girls finish 2nd in bowling

SMYRNA — Wilson Central's girls fell short of the school's second TSSAA state championship within a year Saturday when the Lady Wildcats lost 21-6 to Hardin County in the finals of the State Bowling Tournament at Smyrna Lanes.
The Lady Wildcats advanced to the finals earlier Saturday with a 14-13 win over Soddy-Daisy before suffering their first loss of the season in the finals following 18 wins. Hardin County, which edged Hixson 14-13 in the semifinals, finished 26-1.
Mt. Juliet's boys lost to eventual champion Hixson 24.5-2.5 in the semifinals as the Golden Bears finished a 19-2 season. The Wildcats went on to beat Hardin County in the finals 17-10 to finish a 31-2 year.
