Bulldogs, Lady Bulldogs both take away wins Saturday

The Bulldogs of Cumberland University pulled away from visiting Bethel College in the second half to score a 92-75 victory Saturday at the Dallas Floyd Center.
The win improved Cumberland to 13-11 overall and 5-8 in the TranSouth Conference.
Cumberland hit 67 percent of its second half attempts to build on a 40-37 lead established at halftime. Bethel only managed 34 percent from the floor in the second half.
Brandon Oldham led the charge with 19 points for the Bulldogs. Torrez Hampton fired in 16 points, Maurice Johnson added 13, Thomas Douglas 12, Desmond Rhodes 10, Kevin Bufford seven, Chase Burnett six, Channing Tucker four, Steven Jamison three and Joseph Northington two.
Thomas Haynes knocked in 17 points for Bethel. Teammate Derek Demaree added 11.

Cumberland's Lady Bulldogs converted 22 Bethel turnovers into 23 points on the way to a 91-72 win at the Dallas Floyd Center Saturday.
With the victory, the Lady Bulldogs moved to 19-5 on the season and 9-4 in TranSouth Conference action.
Cumberland held a seven point lead at the half, 42-35, before extending the margin in the second.
The Lady Bulldogs' Tomika Hall led all scorers with 18 points. C'Kala Humes tossed in 17, Renae Williams put in 16, Isabelli Cunico 13, Juliana Fernandes 11, Ashley Cross, and Keisha Forrest six each and Mariel Ruis four.
Whitney Baird put in 16 points for Bethel and teammates Jenna Roney and Nina Djokovic tossed in 12 each.
