Bulldogs battle back to win opener

NASHVILLE — Cumberland's men came from behind in the second half to hand Taylor its first loss of the season 68-62 in the Trevecca Classic.
The Bulldogs trailed 34-30 at halftme as Taylor shot .565 from the floor to Cumberland's .387 in the opening 20 minutes.
The roles almost reversed in the second half as Taylor cooled off to .381 and Cumberland warmed up to .481.
Thomas Douglas threw in three 3-pointers on his way to 25 points in his Bulldog debut. Joseph Northington came off the bench to knock in 12 while Jason Langelier tossed in 10. DeCorey Young scored seven, Chase Burnett six, Kevin Bufford four and Ponce Palmer and Maurice Johnson two each.
Daniel Cox fired in four triples on his way to a game-high 26 points while Jeff Bonhoff tossed in 10 for Taylor, which fell to 3-1.
Cumberland controlled the boards 38-25 with Bufford securing seven caroms for the Bulldogs, who r
