With anticipated high winds and rain expected in the Nashville area, the Tennessee State Fair Association and North American Midway Entertainment will close the fair.
“The safety of our attendees is our No. 1 priority. At this time, we think it best to close the fair for tonight and readdress weather issues for the rest of the week as needed,” said Scott Jones, Tennessee State Fair manager.
According to the National Weather Service, winds of 20-35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph are expected to hit the Nashville area Monday afternoon and continue through Tuesday morning.
Scheduled contests, including the Celebrity and Legislative Milking Contest, will continue to take place as scheduled.
