CU’s Holloway earns MSC honor

Cumberland midfielder Rebecca Holloway was named Mid-South Conference women’s offensive player of the week, the league announced Monday.

Holloway posted three goals and three assists in three outings for Cumberland this week, helping the Phoenix to a pair of victories.

The junior from Bristol, England, recorded an assist, and a goal in a 4-2 loss to 18th-ranked John Brown (Ark.). She scored two goals and assisted on another goal in a 5-0 win at Brenau (Ga.). In the last match of the week, she adding a goal and an assist in a 5-1 victory against Point University (Ga.), bringing her season totals to three goals and four assists in four matches this season.

She ranks second in points (10) and fourth in goals (3) in the Mid-South Conference this season.

Cumberland went 2-1 on the week and moved to 2-2 overall.
