Mrs. Goodwin, age 92, died Friday, Sept. 22, 2017 at her residence in Lebanon.
A native of Medina, Mrs. Goodwin was the daughter of J.Y. and Willie Floy Cochran.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Elaine Lunn Walker; granddaughter, Tammie McIntyre; the father of her children, Dorsey T. Lunn Jr.; and her husband of 40 years, Robert C. Goodwin.
She is survived by her children, Martha Harvey, of Lebanon, Marie Syler, and her husband, Kerry, of Lynchburg, Dorsey T. Lunn III, and his wife, Diane, of Murfreesboro, Robert L. Goodwin, and his wife, Pam, of Nashville; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
A very special thank you is extended to her caregivers who shared daily responsibilities during the last year; Darlene Iarocci and the Kindred Hospice Team; granddaughter, Leanne Davis, and special friend, La Mecia Waters.
In the 1960s, Mrs. Goodwin served as registrar for the School of Engineering at Vanderbilt University and later worked for the Tennessee Department of Education, a position from which she retired.
Mrs. Goodwin worked, worshipped and raised her children in Nashville until 2003 when she and her husband, Bob, moved next door to her daughter in Lebanon. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, and all who knew her will remember her deep faith in Christ, her quick wit and her graciousness.
In lieu of flowers, she requested that contributions be given to the building fund at Immanuel Baptist Church or Kindred Hospice.
