Funeral services for Mr. Crawford are scheduled to be conducted Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017 at 1 p.m. at the Carthage Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes with Brother Bill Fowler officiating. Family and friends will gather Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. for interment at the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Lebanon.

Visitation with the Crawford family will be Monday from 3-7 p.m. and again Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. at the Carthage Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes.

Mr. Crawford, age 75, of the Bellwood community of Lebanon, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017.

Mr. Crawford was born May 19, 1942 in Overton County, the son of the late John M. Crawford and Onie Lee Sevier Crawford. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Brenda G. Thackston Crawford; and brother, J.B. Crawford.

James worked construction, and was given the nickname “Boomer” as a dynamite blaster for Conrad Construction.  

Mr. Crawford is survived by his children, Wanda (Terry W.) Lackey, of Florida, Terry Crawford, of Murfreesboro, Heather Stafford, of Lebanon, Tony Crawford, of Nashville, Vince Crawford, of Nashville, Gary Crawford, of Nashville, Billy Crawford, of Nashville, Timmy Crawford, of Nashville, Mary Ann Maney, of Nashville; sisters, Corean Rigsby, of Carthage, Genetta Smith, of Carthage, Eugenia Denney, of Lebanon, Vicki Maynard, of Carthage, Linda Young, of Florida; and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 

The Carthage Chapel of Bass Funeral Home will serve as directors.
