Funeral services for Mrs. Coots are Saturday at 2 p.m. at Corner Stone Funeral Chapel with Brother Nesbit Sanford and Brother Andy Austin officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the service time.

Lois Lucretia Strickland Coots, age 96, of Whiteville and formerly of Lebanon, died Wednesday, Sept. 6 at Pine Meadows Health Care in Bolivar.

Survivors include her daughter, Helen Coots (Andy) Austin, Bobby (Pat) Coots; grandchildren, Mandy Coots (Dr. Aaron) Pryor, Kim Coots (Aaron) Love, Rick Austin, Rachel Austin (Chris) Galbreath; and great-grandchildren, Owen, Olivia and Evan Pryor, William and Joseph Love, Jessica (Brandon) Davis, Christopher, Carter and Cole Galbreath, Haley, Sadie and Natalie Austin and Noah and Bowen Davis.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dr. Aaron Pryor, Aaron Love, Rick Austin, Chris Galbreath, Owen Pryor and Christopher Galbreath. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Strickland, Don Lee and J.B. Jones.

Mrs. Coots was a graduate of Pisgah High School and member of the Church of Christ. She had worked as gift shop manager for Cracker Barrel for several years, where she was awarded for highest overall store sales.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Larkus and Estoria Carter Strickland; husband, Elbert Coots; sister, Lillian Strickland Spurlin; and brothers, Foster, Agee and Buck Strickland.
