The Encore Theatre Co. will continue its 10th anniversary season with E.B. White’s classic tale, “Charlotte’s Web,” adapted by Joseph Robinette.

Sarah McKay and Marc Sloan will direct the all-youth cast. The show opens Friday and runs weekends through June 19. Friday and Saturday shows begin at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday afternoon shows take the stage at 2:30 p.m. An additional matinee June 18 will begin at 2:30 p.m. Doors will open 30 minutes prior to show time.

All the enchanting characters will be featured, including Wilbur, the irresistible young pig who desperately wants to avoid the butcher; Fern, a girl who understands what the animals say to each other; Templeton, the gluttonous rat who can occasionally be talked into a good deed; the Zuckerman family; the Arables; and most of all, the extraordinary spider, Charlotte, who proves to be “a true friend and a good writer.”

Determined to save Wilbur, Charlotte begins her campaign with the “miracle” of her web in which she writes, “some pig.”  It’s the beginning of a victorious campaign, which ultimately ends with the now-safe Wilbur doing what is most important to Charlotte.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors 60 and older and $10 for children 12 and younger and available at encore-theatre-company.org or by calling 615-598-8950.

Encore Theatre Co. is at 6978 Lebanon Road, just west of Highway 109, in Mt. Juliet. Encore is a nonprofit community theater that serves Wilson County and the surrounding Middle Tennessee area.
