Mt. Juliet astronaut takes on new expedition

Mt. Juliet native and U.S. Navy Capt. Barry E. Wilmore spends 10 days in southwest Asia at the end of July visiting service members, including U.S. Army Force Protection soldiers at the Kuwait Navy Base as part of Armed Forces Entertainment American300 Service with Honor series.  A decorated Naval aviator before becoming a NASA astronaut, Wilmore recently returned from six months aboard the International Space Station during expeditions 41 and 42, where he served as commander. During the series, Wilmore shares his experiences as part of a world-class resiliency mentor program for service members stationed in hardship, remote and combat areas of deployment. 

Wilmore spends 10 days in southwest Asia at the end of July visiting service members, including individuals in the motor pool facility at an undisclosed U.S. military base as part of Armed Forces Entertainment American300 Service with Honor series.
