“We couldn’t do this without the generous support of our local businesses,” said Sherry’s Run board member and auction committee chair Tammye Whitaker.
Whitaker and her committee worked numerous hours throughout the year to secure donations from Beauty Boutique, Cox’s Jewelry & Gifts, G.G.’s Jewelry & Gifts, Gifts on Main/Monograms Plus, Judy’s Fashions Boutique, Merry Blu Boutique, Rose Tire & Service, Sea of Silver & Sass, Southern Swank and Hadley & Finn, Square Market, and Wilkies’s Outfitters.
“It’s a great relationship!” said Whitaker. “Local businesses support Sherry’s Run, and the money raised at the event stays local. We encourage everyone who comes to the Sherry’s Run event to continue shopping local.”
For the past couple of years, the silent auction tent has opened Friday at the event site to allow more time for bidders to check out the merchandise. This year, the tent will open Friday at 2 p.m. It will continue Saturday at 7 a.m. and end at 9:15 a.m. with nearly 200 items. There will be home decor pieces, fashion accessories and a wide assortment of gift certificates. A special item will be the Mini Green Egg w/accessories donated by Roy Vaden Pools. Also visit sherrysrun.org for a more detailed list of silent auction items.
The live auction will be held at the second annual Mardi Gras at the Capitol – formerly the Low Country Boil – in February. More information may be found at the Sherry’s Run Facebook page.
The 13th annual Sherry’s Run is scheduled for Saturday at 8 a.m. at 623 W. Main St. in Lebanon. Registration is open at sherrysrun.org.
