Dentists Give Back initiative announces giveaway winners

The Dentists Give Back to Teachers giveaway announced its winners, and students in several schools throughout the county are set to receive new supplies, seating, materials and more. 

Witherow Orthodontics, Tennessee Implant and Oral Surgery, Pediatric Dentistry of Lebanon, Middle Tennessee Periodontics and Smile Gallery sponsored the event and helped raise $2,500 in donations that were used as 25 grants worth $100 each to educators.

Elementary school winners included Heidi Baker with Byars Dowdy Elementary School for snacks and basic school supplies; Carol Blackmon with Rutland Elementary School for lighting; Stephanie Blakenship with West Elementary School for math games; Amanda Bundy with Coles Ferry Elementary School for supplies for lessons; Meredith Burke with Southside Elementary School for book sets with CDs; Jillian Fariss with West El\ementary School for art supplies and document camera; Larisa Frederick with Lakeview Elementary School for alternative seating; Brandy Hays with Sam Houston Elementary School for headphones; Page Henley with Castle Heights Elementary School for a student mat; Paige Humes with Southside Elementary School for books; Katherine Ihmeidan with West Elementary School for books; Carol Melvin with Tuckers Crossroads School for basic supplies; Ashley Porter with West Elementary School for a documents camera, seating and books; Heather Pulliam with Tuckers Crossroads School for games, a CD player and supplies; Emily Reynolds with Sam Houston Elementary School for portable CD players; Christie Roman with Watertown Elementary School for post office supplies; Amanda Spann with Castle Heights Elementary School for small group math materials; Michelle Stewart with Elzie Patton Elementary School for alternative seating and exercise equipment and Ashley Watkins with Rutland Elementary School for adocument camera.

Middle and high schools winners included Nicole Belsante with Wilson Central High School for tap shoes for dance class; Anne Harper with Lebanon High School for a microbiology study kit; Morgan Lee with Walter J. Baird Middle School for computer speakers; Sherry Macken with Walter J. Baird Middle School for a color printer, scanner and label maker for library; Katharine Ray with Wilson Central High School for scripts, paper, makeup and more for drama; and Carrie Thompson with Watertown Middle School for a hot plate for science experiments.
