A Lebanon woman accused of filling fraudulent prescriptions and using TennCare to pay for them appeared in court Monday morning.

Tiffany Ferguson, 28, was charged in April 2013 with two counts of TennCare fraud and two counts of getting a controlled substance by fraud.

The charges against Ferguson alleged that on two separate occasions she presented an altered prescription for the painkiller Percocet using TennCare to pay for certain services.

The state inspector general’s office led the investigation and Ferguson’s charges.

TennCare fraud is a Class E felony and getting a controlled substance by fraud is a Class D felony.

Ferguson appeared in court Monday morning before Judge David Durham, who set her next court date for Sept. 12 at 8:30 a.m.
