Nona Lisa joins goat yoga craze

Nona Lisa Pizzeria was the site of the latest fitness craze Saturday as the Watertown restaurant held a goat yoga session.

Shenanigoats Yoga held a goat yoga session outside the shop for about a dozen people interested in the most recent craze that mixes traditional yoga with goats. Participants went through an hour-long session and enjoyed lunch at the popular Watertown establishment.

Certified yoga instructor Anita Oakley led the session. She started practicing yoga 18 years ago to prevent chronic neck, back, hip and hand pain from working as a dental hygienist. She also used yoga to find balance and rediscovery after her divorce.

Shenanigoats catapulted into the goat yoga craze in April after a social media post for its goat landscaping services.

Jamie Codispoti and Max Knudsen own and operate Shenanigoats and started the business to meet the demands of operating a farm and fulfill the booming requests for goat yoga. The duo said with each post about their goat landscaping services, they received a request about goat yoga.

The duo held their first class June 10 and said many people sign up for the goats, which allow instructors to introduce new people to yoga.
