Tennessee Playwright Festival coming to Lakewood Theatre Co.

Four local playwrights will get the first chance to see their original works come to life on stage at the Tennessee Playwright Festival from Aug. 26 through Sept. 11 at Lakewood Theatre Co. at 2211 Old Hickory Blvd. in Old Hickory.

The first featured play will be “The Further Adventures of Cootie Simone  ‘Atlanta,’” written by M.J. Stephens, which will show Aug. 28, Sept. 2 and Sept. 10. “The Flaming Princess” by Watermelon ICE will show Aug. 26, Sept. 3 and Sept. 11. “A Capitol Offense” and “A Political Ghost Story” by Blake Fontenay, two one-act plays, will show Aug. 27, Sept. 1 and Sept. 9. 

Friday and Saturday shows begin at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday matinees will be at 2:30 p.m.

Tickets are $10 per show, or patrons may buy a festival pass to all of the individual shows for $20. For more information, visit lakewoodtheatreco.com.
