Pets of the Week for July 15, 2014

Staff Reports • Jul 15, 2014 at 7:00 PM

Meet Maya, the lifesaver. Maya is a beautiful Tortie female cat - she is friendly, calm and loving. But why is she a lifesaver? Well, after raising her own litter, when she was found abandoned with them, she then raised several more orphan kittens.  The orphans would not have survived on foster care alone - but Maya took over their nursing and nurturing - and all are doing well and getting ready for new homes. Maya is now ready for her new home also. She is healthy - tested feline leukemia negative, current on shots, and spayed for adoption. She has been in the care of a very grateful foster - who will tell you how wonderful Maya is - just call Lorna 615-946-3643 to hear all about Mama Maya.

Meet The Lovely Lottie - a black lab mix on the medium size - Lottie is an older lady, maybe 8 years old, but is one of the best behaved and happiest dogs at the rescue. She gets along well with other dogs, cats and all visitors. Lottie is usually in the office with us because she has excellent manners. She is calm when inside and then likes a bit of a romp in the play-yard or on a walk. Lottie is healthy - spayed and current on shots. We don’t know why Lottie found herself homeless - but she would make an excellent housepet and companion. Please call the kennel 615-444-8011 for info on this sweet girl.

Please visit our website www.countryk9.petfinder.com or find us on Facebook  Country K-9 Rescue Adoptable Pets to see other available rescued pets. Our adoption fees are usually $100 for dogs and $50 for cats/kittens - all pets are fully vetted and healthy.

Best friends come in all kind of packages and this one is beautifully wrapped in white fur with red speckles and black and tan markings. Lexus, an Australian Cattle Dog mix, came to New Leash on Life with her 11 adorable puppies. The puppies have been weaned so Lexus is ready to find her forever home. She is 3 years old and weighs 53 pounds. She hasn’t been tested with cats yet but she seems to do well with other dogs.

Lexus loves to be around people and is very playful. For the most part, she seems to be house trained. She loves rolling over and getting belly rubs and she loves to give hugs. Lexus will be spayed, micro-chipped, and of course current on vaccinations prior to adoption. With an approved application, you can take this sweet girl home for $85. Lexus was a warm and caring mother to her puppies.  Now she’s ready to share that love with her new family. Could that be yours? If you’d like to learn more about her, come to meet Lexus today. All New Leash on Life dogs must be adopted to families willing to have their pets be allowed inside-especially at night.

Sierra is a beautiful, super sweet, 1 year old, 6.5 pound, black and white Domestic Shorthair. She and her two kittens were found abandoned, scared and hungry.  They are now safe at New Leash on Life – looking for their forever homes.  Sierra is a sleek, long-legged, long-tailed beauty. She loves to get attention and enjoys being held.  She is on the thin side but in a loving home we know she will gain some weight and have the life she deserves. Come and meet Sierra and make her your forever feline for only $75. Sierra is litter box trained, spayed, micro-chipped and current on vaccinations. Adoption Center Policy:  All cats must be indoor only and shall not be declawed.
