Keith Edmonds Foundation to hold Southern Stars and Mason Jars benefit concert

The Keith Edmonds Foundation will play host to Southern Stars and Mason Jars, a benefit concert that will feature country music singer Tracy Lawrence and others Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Wilson County Expo Center.

Tickets to the event are $125 and will benefit the Keith Edmonds Foundation, a nonprofit organization created to empower and assist children who are victims of child abuse and neglect, as well as adult survivors of child abuse.

Edmonds was 14 months old when his mother’s boyfriend held his face to an electric heater.

“It took me about 35 years to transition myself from a victim of child abuse to a proud survivor of child abuse,” said Edmonds.

The foundation he founded in 2016 was established to help Wilson County victims of childhood in their own transition.

“I can sit down with you one on one and talk to you about the statistics and the reality of what happens within our county,” said Edmonds. “That is not a blemish on our county; it happens in every county. It’s real; it happens, but we’re here to be involved and help them in their transition from victim to survivor.”

The money raised at the event will fund the Keith Edmonds Foundation’s projects that help abused children.

In addition to Lawrence, Casey Bethard, Rick Huckaby and Mark Nesler will perform, and Sammy B’s will cater the dinner.

Sponsorships for the event are also available, and may be purchased by emailing kelly@keithedmondsfoundation.org.

“It’s our first big fundraiser. I’m excited to have it, but I’m more excited to say that this is the first one,” said Edmonds. “We have a contact with Music Row that is going to bring more artists to Wilson County, but it is very dependent on our participation with this.”

Edmonds hopes this first event will be the start of a twice-a-year event at the Wilson County Expo Center.
