New store hours will be Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. and Sunday from noon until 6 p.m. Saturday hours, which are from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m., will not change.
“We are returning to a schedule similar to the one we had prior to April of 2015,” said Goodwill’s senior director of retail Chris Burr. “After trying slightly expanded hours for a year, we have found that the original schedule – which was built around peak shopping demand – provides the best use of our resources to serve customers and the best life-work balance for our employees.”
He said the new Sunday hours would give many employees the freedom to attend traditional church services.
Hours for Donation Express Centers at retail stores will also change. Those hours will be Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. and Sunday from noon until 6 p.m. Hours at donation sites not adjacent to stores will not change.
The sale of donated items in Goodwill’s stores funds the nonprofit’s mission of changing lives through education, training and employment.
