A new manufacturer will soon open up shop in Lebanon.
TecnoTiles Inc. officials said Thursday they plan to begin operations at their new Lebanon facility by July.
“Material from Italy has already been shipped, and they are coming. Other shipments are coming in the next weeks,” said Roberto Ternali of TecnoTiles.
The company, which is a newly formed joint venture of Tecnoceramica S.R.L. and Uptiles S.R.L. – both Italian companies, will produce ceramic tiles on commission from major ceramic tile producers in Tennessee and Kentucky.
Ternali said the company plans to employ about 20 people initially, but plans to increase the number of employees to about 60 within five years.
The company signed a five-year lease on a building at 824 Maddox-Simpson Pkwy. The building is more than 88,000 square feet.
The building’s owner, Jack Cato of Cato Industrial Development, said the company would have the option for an additional five-year lease.
According to Ternali, company officials chose Lebanon out of several other possible sites because of its central location to the company’s manufacturing customers and because of its vicinity and access to Interstate 40 and the Nashville airport.
