Blue Devils repeat as district champs

Lebanon’s boys repeated as District 12 champions last Friday with a 20-5 win over Station Camp at Pro Bowl West.

Earlier, the Blue Devils beat Mt. Juliet 20-5 in the semifinals.

Station Camp got a 288 first game to trim Lebanon’s lead to five early on before the once-beaten Blue Devils pulled away to their 18th triumph in 19 outings.

Lebanon’s undefeated girls won the district title a day earlier with their 19th triumph. Both LHS teams will draw first-round byes when the region tournament rolls off at the District 14 champion’s lane next month. Also advancing to the regional will be Wilson Central’s girls as the league runner up.

While the teams are working their way toward a possible state tournament berth later next month, some individuals have already booked their berths, including Lebanon’s Jarred Bradshaw (222.1 average) and Tyler Moore (2.7.43) and Mt. Juliet’s Ben Giacobbi (205.64) on the boys’ side. Lebanon’s Lindsay Manning (205.4) and Wilson Central’s Megan Metz (201.06) have qualified on the girls’ side.

Lebanon’s Bradshaw is the boys’ regular-season most valuable player with the best record at 37-2. He and Moore had the top high games of 278 and Moore enjoyed the best high series at 787 and was most improved with a plus-33.98. Mt. Juliet’s Isaiah Sanderlin is the rookie of the year with a 175.97 average.

Manning is the girls’ MVP with a 41-1 record which included the high game of 299. Metz enjoyed the high series with a 708 and is most improved with a plus-36.16.

Joining Bradshaw on the boys’ all-district first team are More, Giacobbi and Mt. Juliet’s Hunter Kinzer (179.57). On the second team are Wilson Central’s Dylan Fetcho (179.24) and Lebanon’s Ethan Smiley (176.34). Sanderlin headlines the third team with Lebanon’s Tyler Burton (173.9) and Hunter Fugate (171.14), Wilson Central’s Jared Violi (172.29) and Peyton King (167.78) and Mt. Juliet’s Alex Ayers (169.51).

Joining Manning on the girls’ first team are Metz, Lebanon’s Hattie Isham (144.8) and Wilson Central’s Kristina Walls (144.26). On the second team are Wilson Central’s Kristin Sheffield (140.43) and Lebanon teammates Skyann Wiley (135.03) and Emily Lee (134.61). On the third team are Lebanon’s Kaitlyn Dedman (129.85), Central’s Zaylen Hudson (129.32) and Mt. Juliet teammates Taylor Marvel (125.31) and Emily Glover (123.47).
