SEYMOUR — Justin Seagraves pitched a seven-inning no-hitter Monday afternoon to lead Friendship Christian to a 1-0 win at King’s Academy in the Commanders’ East-Middle District 1-A opener.

Friendship’s bats came alive in the nightcap in a 21-1 conquest as Braden Reece, Ethan Bult and Chad Holcombe combined for another no-hitter.

Seagraves struck out 12 and walked none. Three errors kept the freshman from a perfect game.

Braden Reece doubled home Xan Gordon in the fifth inning with the game’s only run. Daniel Lucas singled twice while Gordon and Matthew Swann doubled.

King’s, the visiting team in the nightcap, jumped to a quick 1-0 lead with an unearned run off Reece in the top of the first inning.

But Friendship scored twice in the bottom half for the lead and blew the game open with 10 in the second and eight in the fourth as the Commanders, who cracked 14 hits, improved to 5-2 for the season.

Reece drove in two runs on two doubles while Ethan Rayment doubled and drove in three runs. Swann and Nolan Painter each had two RBI on a hit. Lucas had a double among his two hits.

Reece pitched the first three innings, allowing a walk while striking out three. Bult and Holcombe each worked an inning.
